No Music On Playback

The first time I used my usb turntable with Audacity everything worked fine except for the fact that when I played back my burned cd on my cd player the sound came out mono. That's not my problem. I found out how to change the Audacity settings from mono to stereo. My problem now is that when I went to record a new track and tried playing it back on my computer with Audacity the track wasn't there. It was just as if it hadn't been recorded. The problem is not witb the sound because when I turn the volume up on my computer I can hear white noise but no music. What's preventing the track from being recorded?

Were the red record meters jumping during the recording? If you don't get those, you have no sound.
Just so we understand, You plugged everything together, launched Audacity and made a successful recording--say one cut from the Glenn Miller album. You were so exhausted that you shut it all down and went to bed. When you came back the next day, it wouldn't record any more.
What happens if you shut down your computer, shut down the turntable (unplug it) turn the turntable back on and restart Windows?
If you launch Audacity and click once inside the red record meters, they will wake up and meter the incoming sound. You don't have to hear music to make a recording. As long as the meters are bouncing, you will get something.
