Ogg Vorbis import problem

Post by yobar23 » Sat Dec 27, 2008 6:05 am

I've got a 40 minute album in Ogg Vorbis format and want to cut out a single track as a single file. I click File|Open the .ogg and see an Import box pop up letting me know it's importing the .ogg, but I only get the first 2 minutes of the file, which coincides with the length of the first tune. Same thing happens when I try Project|Import Audio. I've used Audacity with much larger .wav and .mp3 files and have never had a problem opening and/or editing them. Any ideas about my problem? I read the manual and found this sentence on page 5:

"Audacity works with tracks, that contain one audio file."

It's a single .ogg file, but with 11 separate tunes. Does that break the Rules of Audacity? I'm bumming. :x

I run Audacity 1.2.6 under WinXP SP3

What program was the ogg file created with?
Does the file play correctly? If so, in what player?

Perhaps you can convert the file into a WAV file with SUPER or FooBar 2000, then import the WAV file into Audacity.
