Where to download musical notes?

Hi everyone.. This is my first post on these forums.
I am a student and I want to study the different waveforms of different musical notes. I believe audacity can help me here (correct me if I am wrong). Does anyone know where I can get audio files of pure musical notes to import into audacity?

Google the frequency of the note you want and then use the tone generator to generate that note on the timeline. I believe the default tone is 440 Hz which is the "A" that the oboe sounds at the beginning of the concert.
However that's not going to tell you squat. Those will be pure sine waves that you can practically draw by hand. They're not the slightest bit musical, either.
You probably want single musical
instrument notes. This may be good to start with, although I didn't stop at each note. This is a piano solo on a Yamaha concert grand piano. It's six seconds long. Get the WAV file.

I think it's in "G." If you do a spectrum analysis of that A-440 generated note from above, you will get a single spike at 440Hz. If you analyze my first piano note, you get a slightly more complex analysis...

One of the violin clips from the BBC; from Strings > Violin > Glissando > 0996.mp3 might be really good for you. The first note is without the vibrato normally applied to all violin notes, so you get to analyze it without it rapidly moving around.
