I just installed Audacity on a new laptop (with Vista) and although I am getting audio levels in and hearing them out of the speakers, I cannot SEE the wave form in order to edit.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Unable to see wave form?
If you can play a file in Audacity, then the wave must be there - perhaps it is just so small that it looks like a flat line?
If you mean that you cannot record, check the usual Vista issues here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS and see the tutorials here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Tutorials

Re: Unable to see wave form?
Try using the "Amplify" effect to make the waveform bigger.
If this works, then it is not a real solution, but indicates that the cause of the problem is that your recording level is way too low and you need to turn the recording level up.
What are you recording from?
What sound card do you have?
