MP3 plays too fast in Firefox

I have converted some songs from CD to mp3 using Audacity. I am using Wimpy Button to play the sampe music on a website. It works great in Internet Explorer but not Firefox. In Firefox the music plays too fast and is chipmunked. MP3s created with another program play fine. But MP3s created with Audacity have this trouble. Is it something in my settings? What could cause this and how do I fix it?

Thanks in advance!

How are you doing that first step? Unless you have an actual Music CD ripping program or live capture software, getting music from a CD is harder than you think. If you got the music from Windows Media, then the songs aren't in CD format any more and Audacity will have trouble.

I think this is due to a problem with the Flash plug-in that you are using in Firefox. You may be able to update Flash to solve the problem, alternatively try changing the format of your MP3's. I don't use Audacity 1.2.6 and I can't remember exactly what formats are supported, but I would suggest trying "128kbps CBR joint stereo". If that option is not available in Audacity 1.2.6 you could use one of the many free stand-alone MP3 encoders. (I use LameDropXPd which is available here: http://rarewares.org/mp3-lamedrop.php )
