I should add they're USB mics.... Rock Band Mics to be exact.
should i be able to record multiple (simultanious) tracks with this and not have to purchase any external hardware?
this is my first step into recording, and would like to just lay a few simple tracks with spending as little as possible.

Re: Multiple Mics/No interface
Audacity is only able to record from one audio device at a time, so with USB microphones, you will only be able to record from one microphone. Other software may be able to record from more than one USB microphone, but Audacity can not.
Using Audacity to record one USB microphone you only need to have the microphone, Audacity, a computer, and headphones/speakers to listen to your recording after you have recorded.
