I am using a DELL VOSTRO 1500 laptop with Realtek AC97 sound card. When I use Audacity,. I am not able to record the music that is played by the computer because I dont find the option "Stereo Mix" at all. Where I have a desk top with the same sound card (assembled by me) and I am able to record from PC using "Stereo Mix"
Please advise me on how to overcome this.

It's still there, but Microsoft makes it more and more difficult to find it.
