Occasional crashes with Vista

I've used Audacity for many years, and it -never- crashed on my previous computer, even though it was an old computer and not that powerful. I had windows XP as the operating system on that one. I've got a new computer now though, which is a lot more powerful, but still, Audacity crashes ALOT, and it's very frustrating since all the work gets lost... I think it may be because I have windows Vista... Has anyone else had the same problem? And is there a solution? Thanks in advance

Try using Audacity 1.3.6
On Vista this version may well be more stable than the old 1.2.x version.
