Bleed from click-track

I use Audacity's internal metronome, the "click-track", very infrequently, because it has a strong tendency to bleed through onto whatever track is being recorded.

For the current project, my external metronome (which does not bleed) was not available, so I gave the click-track another try.

Yep; obnoxious bleeding, which the Noise Removal feature cannot seem to remove effectively. Not unless the setting is so high it causes the dreaded "jingle-bell" distortion.

The Click Removal feature doesn't seem to make a difference either.

Any suggestions?

Check the settings for your sound card - you probably have it set to record "stereo mix" (which records everything that goes through your sound card and not just the microphone or "line in" or whatever input you are using).

Note, this is not a setting in Audacity, it is a setting in your sound cards control panel, or the Windows Mixer (depending on what sound card you have). See this section for some hints on changing the sound card settings : http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... trol_Panel
