I'm not in a position to listen to it, but here are the known working ways to remove a vocal. The bottom two, I believe, will do both...

Center Pan Remover (Voice Remover--Search the page for "Center Pan Remover")
http://audacityteam.org/download/nyquistplugins

Voice Isolator (Opposite of Center Pan Remover)
Voice Trap

Extra Boy

There are a really lot of reasons why vocal removal will not work. If you have a mono show, for example, or two-track mono, you're dead with all the tools. In the case of Center Pan Removal, if the singer isn't in the middle of a stereo show, you're dead. The singer can't have echo effects, etc.

You're out of luck with that track. It is almost mono - all of the instruments are panned centre, and it is only a bit of reverb that is in stereo, so when you try to remove the vocal (properly described as "centre pan removal") it will remove nearly everything.

It is quite common for live shows to be essentially mono as otherwise everyone in the audience that is sat or stood to one side or the other will only hear half the show.

See here for an explanation of how vocal removal works: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... al_Removal
