I have a regular Windows XP. I use a regular Phillips mic. I often to recordings using audacity for my band. This has been working before (about 3 months ago last time). I have made no changes to my pc, and have had this problem before. Can someone please help me???

...and yes, I have tried the stupid sound thingy at the bottom of the screen trying to unmute it. USELESS. I also tried running the test thingy, and it says i'm not missing anything, but it still doesn't work.

Yes, but has Microsoft or your virus s/w provider downloaded updates to your PC?

Oh, yeah, I guess it does lol. I realized that we just got antivirus back on the comp, and it updated last night. Will that affact it?
