ps. I bought it at Best Buy in Pittsburgh for $25 and change...I have no idea how many pounds or euros that is, but it doesn't seem to weigh much, so I doubt it's a whole lotta pounds (sorry about that)

And most of that weight is in the base to keep it from falling over--if you got the same one. Ribbon and dynamic microphones have permanent magnets inside, but electret microphones don't need to weigh very much at all. They make great lavalier microphones you clip on your collar.
