I'm sure I'm not the first to have had this issue, put perhaps my frustration is making me blind to the search results coming up.
I have been using Audacity for about 6 months without issue. I was using a Plantronics DSP400 USB headset. I have upgraded to a Heil PR40 microphone and as a result needed a better sound interface and selected the Presonus Firebox. With this setup only one channel of audio is being recorded and that is the left channel.
I've checked all settings and did find a post talking about Audacity forgetting Preferences, Audio I/O, Channels selection. I've verified and re-verified that it is set for 2 (stereo).
In Windows I've checked to make sure the audio recording device was set for PreSounus FIREBOX mic/Inst 1/2. It is.
What am I missing? Thank you in advance.

Re: Recording only Left Channel
The Heil PR40 microphone is mono. There is only one channel of audio. To record using that microphone, change "Audio I/O, Channels selection" to 1 (mono).JTaylor801 wrote:I have upgraded to a Heil PR40 microphone and as a result needed a better sound interface and selected the Presonus Firebox. If you specifically need the recording on 2 channels (for example so that you can apply stereo reverb), select the mono track and press Ctrl+D to duplicate the track. Click on the name of each track and from the drop down menu set one track to "Left" and the other to "Right". Then select both tracks and run "Quick Mix".
In all other cases, just use the mono track - you can still pan it left/right if you wish using the track pan slider.
