recording only the L side...

recording tapes to file through a plusdeck2 converter and had problems with that so downloaded Audacity to convert.When I record it only records on the left side.The songs play equally R and L speakers,headphones ect so am at a loss as to why this is happening.any help would be great,thanks,

Audacity wakes up from First Birthday in Mono. Reset in Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O.
