Audio I/O
I have a Hewlett Packard computer using windows XP.I have downloaded Audacity but the drop down for input is all gray. The things that hvve been suggested have not worked.Can you help me with this issue?

I also have the problem as the first post indicated, although it works fine on one computer, yet the other one is gray. The reply given was a link that didn't appear to fit the post, as it went to a message that said to stay on topic. As that original post appeared to be the first post in an appropriate board, I'm assuming that the person who posted the link must have mistyped what was intended.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

No, sorry. That's clearly a mistake.
The problem is I don't know where the real posting is. You re not running Vista, so that boiler plate posting isn't applicable to you. Did you try the advanced Search at the upper right of the forum?
Just to cover it, did any of this apply to you?

Oh, and sometimes you need to restart Audacity for some of the more serious settings to "stick."

I had already looked to that link, but I have a big problem, in the control panel of Vista, in the tab of "Recording", I only had "headset microphone" and "microphone", I already click on "show enable devices" , what can I do? please helpppp!!!!

Hi. I have a recording of my voice, but now I want to turn it in to a phonevoice. It must sound as if I'm on the telephone. Does anyone know how to manage this? Thanks for your answer.
