I have purchased a USB Turntable.
Is there any way you can play the records through your computer speakers witout recording them? Thanks :)

Yes - just click once in the Input Level Meter area (the red meters) - and this will turn on "monitoring". Clicking there again will turn monitoring off (if you are not recordig/playing.

If you are recording/playing, clicking in the input level meter will reset the max levels of the metering.

This is a poorly documented feature of Audacity - and the GUI is not at all helpful - for a start, as you will have noticed, there is no obvious switch/button to turn monitoring on - and if you do have monitoring on but with no signal, then there is no way of seeing that you have monitoring on.

BTW you will also have to make sure the sound output in Audacity and in Windows are targetted on your PC's onboard soundcard - as normally when you plug in a USB device like this the O/S hads over full responsibility for the sound management (both input and output) to the USB device.
