Upon messing with audacity and just having some fun with a microphone, i began getting the following message after several minutes, seemingly at random:
"Audacity.exe has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
It closes, and upon opening again it gives me the option to delete or not to delete temporary files that it is apparently unable to open on its own, which i can, apparently, retrieve manually from somewhere.
Is there a patch I should no about or something I can to to allleviate the problem?
I have vista btw, thanks for the help.

There is the 1.3 version. Have a go with Audacity 1.3.6JLMoriart wrote:Is there a patch
Also, make sure that you have plenty of free drive space on your C: drive, and check that it does not need defragmenting.
There is a page in the Audacity wiki that is specifically about using Audacity on Vista: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS
