Audacity exporting MP3s that are too slow!!

Hi,

I downloaded Audacity today because I wanted to crop a song. I've cropped it to 4 minutes in length with Audacity but whenever I export it as an MP3 it becomes 6:05 minutes in length.

Details:
  • Audacity 1.2.6
    Lame v3.98
    Adobe Flash Player 10
    128 bit rate
    44100 Hz sample rate
Can anyone suggest a way for me to export the 4 minute Audacity selection as a 4 minute MP3 because I have no idea what's going wrong. I've only just begun using Audacity so I would be grateful for some help.

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions? Could really do with some help with this please!

this recent posting http://audacityteam.org/forum/viewtopic ... 194#p29194 from one of the developers, Gale Andrews, about a problem with the latest LAME version - and how toi get a copy of the earlier LAME release - this fixed a similar problem for someone who posted earlier in the week.

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried downloading v3.97 but for some reason it wouldn't unzip.

I've got it working now anyway though - I saw that v.3.98.2 has been released and it seems to have corrected the issue.
