Audacity MP3s playback at double speed

This should not be a problem in Windows/Audacity 1.2.6 if you stick to 44100 Hz project rate (bottom left of the Audacity screen) and use this v3.98 version of lame_enc.dll. 1.2.6 code has not changed for a very long time so the only thing that can have changed is the version of the LAME library you are using. It's known that some copies of lame_enc.dll v3.98 in circulation produce files that are half the proper length, so play too fast.

I solved my problem by solved by installing lame 3.97 instead of 3.98
Exports multiple mp3's like a champ.....

Since is works this way, do you think I should try to find a lame 3.98 that works....
what are the advantages of 3.98 over 3.97

The LAME changelog is here, so as you see there are not any major changes in v3.98. I assume you are on Windows, if so lame_enc.dll 3.98.2 from my site does not have the length change issue, and we're planning to update the version we link to on http://lame.buanzo.com.ar/ to use that.
