Hello,
I am trying to record something from myspace, with audacity, and i have a laptop.
but when i go to play in audacity, the recording sounds horrible, too soft and sounds like a microphone
i want it to have the quality of the song i recorded, any ideas?
my brother was saying something about mono out or changing something to mono out
for a start i couldnt find the mono out settings on my laptop (using vista)
i think its already on mono out on audacity, but how do i know for sure??
any help will be appreciated
many thanks
d
p.s ive posted this before somewhere but no one got back to me all day, would really like the help
Please help me with this??

Re: Please help me with this??
I'm no expert but...
have you checked your sound mixer to see if the 'stereo mix' isn't low or muted?
Have you tried changing your 'Sound Recording Default Device' in 'Sounds and Audio Device Properties' in the 'control panel''?
If this isn't the problem it may be the drivers your sound card is using.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful than that.
Good luck!

Not in Audacity - look for a loudspeaker icon near the system clock. You should find the settings in there.defunk wrote:but where can i find the settings for STEREO MIX in audacity, to check if its muted or low volume??
