Guys,
I'm totally new to audacity.
One of my colleagues recorded some voice files and sent them to me.
They all have an extension .AUP, so far so good.
When i open the file with audacity i get the following message " could not find the project data folder:"intro_data".

What does this person have to send me? Where are the project data folders?
If she can send them where do i place them ?

Thanks
Quovadis

Not so far, so good. AUP files are English XML Language programming files, not sound files. This catches everybody.

If the person still has the shows on their computer, they need to Export As WAV or Export As MP3 to get real sound files. Those will play anywhere in the world.

If they deleted the jobs you have no show. If they "cleaned up" all those au and other files and sound clips or moved them, you may not have a show, either.

It's not a simple matter of sending along the right stuff. Audacity Saves Projects, not sound files, and Projects, which can consist of thousands of files, need to be present and in the original directory structure that they were created. Most people trying to move a project fail.

Much better to send an exported sound file.
