Sound pan

I'm trying to add two tracks together and when I pan one to the right speaker I cant hear anything the whole recording comes out the left. What do I do to fix this?
Check your speakers and the wiring first (try using headphones).
If you still have a problem, look in the Windows Mixer (loudspeaker icon near the clock) and check that you do not have something set panned to one side.
