Troubles getting to record.

Post by Cevcaf » Sat Nov 08, 2008 3:16 pm

Hi guys i wanted to start recording my Mix sessions at home so i can hand some outs. I use CD decks, mixer and speakers (usual stuff), So i bought a RCA phono cable with the other end of the cable USB so i could plug the phono side to the REC in my mixer and the USB side straight into Laptop. I go to COntrol Panel, Sound and Recording to find the only Input recording device i have on the laptop is the Microhpone (grrr). As you know this sounds terrible to record like this so i am asking you guys if there is any solution to this at all? Any help or opinions on this matter will be much appreciated! Thanks

Do a search on the Audacity wiki (link at top of page) for USB
Also if you are using Vista, look that up as well - there's some information that is specific to Vista.

Do you want to give a bit more information?
What exactly is this phono/USB cable that you have?
Are you using Vista?
Have you checked in the Windows Control Panel as per the instructions on the Vista page of the wiki?
