I downloaded Audacity in the hopes of making some songs I like into karaoke tracks.
When I import the song itself into Audacity, the audio plays at an incredibly high speed, it almost sounds like a cassette tape being fast forwarded. I've played around with Preferences and Set Rate but I can't figure out what the problem is.
I'm completely new to this program, so any suggestions or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Audio Plays Too Fast
You are playing a compressed audio file that Audacity doesn't know how to manage. The amount of compression is reflected in the speed of playback. You should convert this file to WAV or MP3 before importing into Audacity.
