I just downloaded Audacity, I haven't even changed any settings yet, and all speech I try to record is distorted and filled with bass. I've checked multiple microphones to make sure it wasn't equipment, and none of them have had any effect. No matter where I look in the help book, nothing seems to match my problem. Please help.

Not much to go on there.
What sort of microphone? Speaking or singing? What is the microphone plugged into? How far from your mouth is the microphone?.....
If you are using a cheap headset microphone, it is difficult, near impossible, to get voice recordings that sound anything other than rubbish. They are made for making internet telephone calls, not recording.

It's most likely the headphones. I have tried about five of then, each within the prices of $20 to $120 (15.88 EUR to 95.3252 EUR as the case may be) ....and it may have no impact, but most of them can't acctually pipe out sound anymore. Although the first one I tried can play sound, cost about 50 USD, and was made for audio capture.
I have them plugged into my USB port.
