Trim MP3 problem on Mac & Win

Post by johnfaig » Mon Nov 03, 2008 12:11 pm

I have the Mac version and the Windows version on 2 different computers. I downloaded and Windows version and tried to edit an MP3. I am not able to delete a section of the music in either the Mac or Windows version. In fact, almost all of the menus are greyed out. Is it possible that the music is somehow protected? Should I convert it to another format?

Effects menus and most edit menus are greyed out until you have selected some audio.
Click on a track in the left hand information box (at the left side of the track) to select the track.
Ctrl+A selects All
Click and drag to select part of a track.

Have a look at the "tutorials" and "tips" in the Audacity wiki (link at top of page) to help you get started.
