accidentally did too much noise removal, saved and exited.

I had been working on a song for about 3 months when I noticed some weird noise coming from the background when I exported as mp3. I thought that noise removal might do the trick so I tried that. I chose the most noise removal possible, and being an idiot, I saved the result and closed audacity without checking to see the effect that it had on the audio. Anyway, I started listening to the newly exported mp3 to see if it got rid of the weird background noise but noticed that the audio sounded as if it were recorded underwater. I now cannot recover the old audio without the noise removal done to it, and am stuck with a crappy sounding recording. Is there anything I can do, I would hate to have to discard a song that I have been working on for so long. Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately no.
The true value of a backup comes the moment after you realise that you don't have one.
