New User (Help!)

Post by Yhipec » Sat Oct 25, 2008 2:26 am

It's strange, for some reason the program doesn't allow me to edit any of my music. I will highlight a portion of a song, Copy, then try and paste it into a 'New Audio Track' Yet I have no results. =/ I am really excited about the capabilities of the program, and I'm extremely eager to toy with it, but for some reason it just doesn't seem to let me do much of anything. The only thing I have been able to enter into a new track is the generated static, silence, and tones.

Help would be much appreciated. Feel free to point out if I'm simply being stupid. Thank you!

Certainly should work in 1.2 - I just triedin 1.2.6cutting with the CTRL+C shortcut some selected audio and then creating a new track and pasting in with the CTRL+V shortcut and it worked fine. I does start at time=0 in the new track, but you can move this if necessary with the time-shift tool. In 1.3.5 you can paste into the new track exactly where your cursor is currently placed.

Well, would the fact that I am using a song from a CD affect it? =/ I just tried it again, and it still doesn't seem to work properly. In fact, when I go to the new track after copying the Paste edit option is grayed out, and remains that way no matter how many times I select copy, or how I do it. Via Keyboard, mouse or the command under the edit file heading. All of the options lead to me being unable to paste the music clip that I selected in the song.

Any other responses would be greatly appreciated, I am running on the current version (not the Beta of the NEWEST one). I downloaded the file from cnet, would that have any effect on it?

I presume that you are not trying to paste stereo audio into a mono track, or mono audio into a stereo track? Stereo audio can only be pasted into a stereo track and mono audio can only be pasted into a mono track.
