Ok, even though I have had Audacity for a couple of years now, my expereince with it is limited at best.
I have a couple of OGG files that I would like to convert to mp3 format. Can this be easily done through Audacity? Thanks in advance...

Re: OGG to mp3 files?
You need to also have LAME installed for MP3 export.
http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... stallation
"Import" the OGG file into Audacity, then "Export" as MP3.
Note that MP3 is a "lossy" format, so there will be some loss in sound quality when you do this.

Thanks stevethefiddle...
I recall downloading a LAME file about a year ago, so I think I already might have done this...
Is there anyway I could check to see if I have LAME installed?
Thanks again!

Re: OGG to mp3 files?
Audacity needs to be able to locate "lame_enc.dll"
If Audacity can not find it automatically, and you cannot find it manually, download it again and put it somewhere that you can find easily (for example, in the root Audacity program folder). The "lame_enc.dll" is available from the link that I posted previously.

Re: OGG to mp3 files?
Audacity 1.3.x supports FLAC files - I'm not sure about 1.2.6
The latest version of Audacity (1.3.6) should support many other file types as well, though I think that feature is still quite experimental and I have not got round to testing it yet.

Thanks. I will try it out and let you know. I am at work now and not sure what version of Audacity I have at home.
