I installed the program and only a few functions work. 80% are blocked so I'm unable to use them. I'm not sure what the problem is. Cut and paste doesn't work, nothing seems to be working!

Don't know what to do. I can open the program but the functions aren't allowing me to use them.

Any ideas?

Most functions require that some audio is selected.
To select a complete track, click on the box at the left side of the track.
To select a region of one or more track, click with the left mouse button on a track and while holding the mouse button down, drag the mouse across the desired selection.
To select all tracks, press Ctrl+A (select All)
