This is a really good productivity software. I have been using it for 3 days now and it has made me 1000times more productive. I am a student, I record my notes via audacity and listen to them later. Tomorrow is my exam and I need this to work ASAP.
Problem - When I record in audacity - there is a RED line which moves across the screen, this line moves fine but when I stop the recording and hit the play button to hear what I've recorded - this playback (THE GREEN LINE) moves VERY VERY slow. This is why I am unable to hear anything
BUT
if I export the project into Mp3, I hear my work fine via Windwos media player, winamp etc.
I suspect that I have changed some setting while I was trying to know it better.
I am running XP Pro, 512MB RAM.
Please people, help me, I really NEED IT.
Best regards.

From the Effects menu, select "Preferences" and check these settings (the settings given here are not necessarily the default values, but should give you a working program):futuremichael wrote:I suspect that I have changed some setting while I was trying to know it better.
Audio I/O
Software Playthrough = off (not selected)
Quality
Default Sample Rate = 44100
Default Sample format = 16 bit
Real time sample rate converter = Fast
Real time dither = none
Directories
Location - should be on an internal hard drive. The default is a temporary directory on the C: drive.
If that doesn't fix it, you can reset Audacity by following the instructions in the first green box on this page: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... references (read the warnings carefully before you start playing with the Windows Registry).

Re: Playback issue IN audacity
Thanks Steve.
I checked all that but nothing worked.
But fortunately I was able to fix this issue myself.
This is what I did -
I installed the same software into a different directory - c:program filesaudacity2.
Ran this newly installed exe and everything worked smooth.
I guess there was some kind of directory corruption or something I cant understand.
Earlier, I tried to reinstall the software in same folder but that didnt help, so that's y I decided to ask for help.
Thank for your reply,
Appreciate it.
