Muting Current Track

I've recorded one track through a Behringer Xenyx 1204FX mixing board with my guitar, and I'm attempting to record another, but that annoying delay on the bass that I'm currently recording is making it impossible to listen to my first track to synchronize both my guitar and bass. Is there a simple way to fix this? -Austin

"Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O"
Switch off "software playthrough"
