Hello!

I'm a new member, for 2 minutes now already.. ;-)
I've got a question regarding drums in Audacity. I've been searching and checking on the forum but couldnt' really find what I was looking for, so:
I play guitar and record guitar tracks in Audacity. Now, I want to import drums into Audacity to make the guitar tracks sound a bit more like songs!

I'm really not into this kind of stuff, so I'm not sure how to import drums. I guess I need a plug-in and import it into Audacity? If so, is there any place to download drum plug-ins for free? Doesn't need to be that great, just some basic drum plug-in would work for me.

Thanks for the info!

Cheers,
Oliver

You need to find some "drum loops" either as WAV, MP3, or some other supported format (use Google to find them - there;s lots available for free)

From the File menu in Audacity, choose "Import Audio" and select one of your drum loop files.

Select the audio in the new track, and from the Effects menu select "Repeat".

Ok I'll give that a try.

Is there also any free drum-computer software available which allows you to create your own drum loops?

For Windows, try "HammerHead Rhythm Station"
(For Linux there's "Hydrogen")

How about BIAB? Can drum loops be imported from there? They're using RealDrums now. How good does the drum loop feature work? Can drum fills be imported, too?

Audacity can Import and Export WAV files.
Audacity is not a specialised looping program, although some ability to use loops in Audacity is possible.
Audacity is a reasonable tool for editing loops, but for working extensively with loops you will find that Audacity is quite limited in this department.
Note that MP3 is not a suitable format for loops as there is always a little bit of silence added to the beginning of the file. This is not an Audacity issue, it is a limitation of the MP3 format.
