Howdy,

I have a Terratec EWS88 MT 8/8 PCI sound card.

My problem is that the 8 inputs are split into pairs. So i need to be able to select 4 devices as my input source.

I know other programs can do this, n-track studio for one, however i want to continue my use of audacity.

However, audacity won't let me select more than one input device.

Is there any solution out there or is this one for the feature suggestion team?

Audacity can only record with a single device driver - it can not record from multiple devices (even if the multiple devices are in the same physical unit).

Other programs usually get round this by using ASIO drivers. Unfortunately ASIO support is not included in the standard release due to licensing restrictions. But i don't suppose anyone has already done this and is willing to pass it on?

Have you looked at "Reaper"? It's not free, but is a very low priced Digital Audio Workstation for Windows, with performance that is on par with professional products costing $ hundreds.

Reaper supports both ASIO and VST and comes bundled with a handful of excellent quality VST plug-ins, that give you real time control of essential effects such as Eq, reverb, dynamic compression....

The one thing that is missing from Reaper is a good wave editor, which makes Audacity the perfect companion program. You can do all the recording and real time effects in Reaper, and any wave editing in Audacity.

I have actually, but i have the same problem there

I'm no expert with Reaper, but I believe it should work (in Reaper) if you use the ASIO4ALL driver.
