Hi everyone,
This is my first day on this forum.
I recently purchased a Marshall microphone, Alesis Mixer and Yamaha monitor speakers, as I want to record on hold messages, to be played back through my phone system, to tell people about my company and products when they are on hold.
When I record or playback, there is always this high pitched whine. It could be from the hard disks, maybe the cooling fans, I'm not sure, but the sound does not get recorded onto the wave form, as when I save it and play it back on other computers the whine isn't audible.
It's just annoying, and I can't believe I would be the only person having this problem.
If anyone on this forum has heard of this, and has any ideas, I would appreciate any help.
The problem is even on a new ASUS dUAL CORE NOTEBOOK, ALTHOUGH not quite as loud.
I was going to setup a brand new computer to see if the problem persists, but I'm hoping that someone out there may have had this problem, and knows how to solve it.
Thank you,
Nathan Zassman

Re: Wine through headphones and speakers
You say "Wine through headphones and speakers" in the title, then "It could be from the hard disks, maybe the cooling fans, I'm not sure," in your message. If the sound was from a fan, or hard drive, then I would not expect the sound to come out through the speakers.
Something I've noticed on several laptop computers, is that the external power supply can sometimes cause interference on audio playback - this could perhaps be the problem. To test this, try running your laptop from battery power with the power adaptor completely disconnected from the laptop.
