iTunes imports only playing super fast?

Post by Meyer » Sat Sep 20, 2008 5:22 am

Whenever I import a song from iTunes, Audacity plays it back EXTREMELY fast.

For example, I just imported a song that is 4 minutes and 44 seconds long, and Audacity is showing it as about "0.064". The playback of this whole song is just a fast little squeek.

What could be causing this?

What can I do?

You are probably getting them out of iTunes in the wrong format. Audacoty does not support AAC (which I think is the default format for iTunes). You will need to export them from iTunes, or convert them, to a format that Audacity supports such as mp3 or WAV.

Update:
The answer is here: http://www.audacityteam.org/wiki/index. ... rom_iTunes

That tells you all about importing files from iTunes.
