Editing mp3s to shorten length

Post by johnmayer696 » Sat Sep 20, 2008 12:14 am

I was wondering if Audacity could edit mp3s without having to recompress them once I'm done editing them. I have tried exporting mp3s after shortening them, but they always sound lower quality because they end up getting recompressed. Any tips would helpful.

Audacity always works on uncompressed files.
You could try "mp3directcut" http://mpesch3.de1.cc/mp3dc.html
