Recording / Volume Mixer Help

Post by draziert » Thu Sep 18, 2008 9:57 am

Hi there,

I am experiencing a problem whereby after clicking on 'Record' in Audacity, the red line simply stays stuck and trembling at the beginning of the track and nothing is being recorded. The thing is, it was working fine about 2 days ago, so I'm not too sure what the problem is.

Also, I have noticed a change in my Volume Mixer bar (OS: Vista) and was wondering if it was related to this problem. The following image is taken off another site :

I remember mine looking somewhat like that back when it was working, with a couple of applications showing up in the Mixer. But now mine just shows :

I am running on a Dell XPS M1530, Vista Home Premium 32-bit and using the default internal microphone to record. I've also enabled the 'Show Disabled/Disconnected Devices' under the Playback/Recording Devices Tab and a previous search in the forum for this issue only led me to a post whereby the reply was to defrag or free up disk space, which does not work for me since I've already defragged it with 170gb of free space.

Help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance! :D
