How Do I Transfer an Audacity File to an MP3 player

Post by legeser » Mon Sep 15, 2008 5:08 pm

:? I have an audio book that is just one big file. I used Audacity Silence Search (I think that is what it's called) and put breaking in the file every 15 minutes or so. Worked great - and easy too! I exported it as an MP3, using LAME, but now cannot get it onto the MP3 player. (my Dad has a Garmin nuvi GPS that plays MP3s and I am trying to put it onto that so I guess you would consider it to be a generic MP3 player) Anyway I thought I read to copy and paste the file and I did that but all I got was another single, seven hour, file. I tried to go back and re-read the instructions but I cannot find the info again. So here I am, posting the question - WHAT DID I DO WRONG? I'd appreciate any help you can give as soon as you can give it as he is heading back to Florida in just a few days. THANKS!

Did you use "Export Multiple" in the way described in this Tutorial?
