over modulation with mp3

Recently I have noticed a problem with my voice sounding over-modulated when I mix my tracks down to mp3. It sounds fine as an audacity project before the mix down. Any ideas? I record with a Samson microphone.

What exactly do you mean by "over modulated"? Can you upload a short clip to the internet and post a link.
How does it sound if you export as WAV?
