Hi there
I'm just getting started with Audacity, recording from a tape player at the moment. First I did a short recording, about 30 seconds, just to see if it worked. It seemed ok so I tried another. On this one the sound was very quiet so I checked all the settings. Since then I've either had a silent recording, massive white noise, or loud clicks, but no recording.
I've checked all the cables and the settings in Audio I/O and I've tried reinstalling Audacity and updating the soundcard driver. I do have the 'greyed out' mixer toolbar problem, but have enabled recording multi streaming in the Realtek HD Sound Effect Manager.
There must be something I'm missing but I don't know what it is. Can anyone help?
Thankyou
Penny
