apply settings to multiple files?

Hello. So I have a recording of a standup act, and it is split up between 15 files. I wanted to clean up the audio, so I have found the correct settings that I like. I did this with mp3 #1. is there a way to also apply the effects I've used on this file, to the other ones, without reentering the effects for each file individually?

Audacity 1.3.5 has "Chain effects" which is a kind of limited batch processing. You can probably use that, but there are two things to be aware of:

1) Audacity does not support all functions in chain effects.
2) Audacity does not clear out the temporary files until you close the session, so you need to be sure that you have sufficient free disk space to process all the files (including the undo data for each file).

so I just close current project, open a new one, and goto apply chain? Or do I have to tell it what file to get the chain from?

I tried doing it this way, but like you said some things were missing (low pass filter and whatnot)

Anyway I can just run a batch file that can do it?

In Audacity 1.3.5

You create a "chain" of processes in "File > Edit Chains"
Since you cannot use highpass or lowpass filters, use the Equalizer effect instead.

To Apply a "Chain" to a bunch of files:
"File > Apply Chain"
Select the chain that you want to apply and click on "Apply to Files".
