Hi,
I'm not able to record from incoming web streaming trough microsoft sound mapper. Once Audacity launched and with sound mapper output as source, mono I get the sound trough Audacity and able tou adjust output level.
Thus Recording is showing an empty track. No sound recorded. This is probably due to the configuration but I cannot find a solution.
Is someone can help me ?
Thanks in advance

Salut
Merci d'avance

The fact that you're listening to the work doesn't mean that Audacity is getting the work. Before you press Record, click once inside the red Audacity record meters. They should become alive and tell you what the audio level is going to be in the final recording. If you get nothing, then Audacity isn't really seeing the show.

Open the RECORDING settings of your sound card mixer application (usually the Windows Mixer) - you can usually access this from the loudspeaker icon near to the system clock. Make sure that you have "Stereo Mix" selected as the input (sometimes called "Mix" or "What U Hear").

There is more information here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... e_computer

If you are using Vista, you may also want to look here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php? ... s_Vista_OS

Note that some modern computers have the "stereo Mix" option permanently disabled - this is most common on laptops that use the RealTek HD or Sigmatel audio devices. In these case a driver update may fix the problem (if available).

I didn't know all that was up there on the wiki. However, I don't see any mention of that XP driver cross-over desperation method someone found a while ago. Was one just written before the other?
