Greetings:
My wife loves listens to a certain Canadian radio station but it comes on so late, she can’t listen to it. I have downloaded Audacity-win-1.2.6 but frankly, I don’t know how to use it. I hope that this Forum can give the information I need. BTW, my OS is Vista Ultimate.
A) I go to the Internet radio station and turn on and listen to the stream. Now, how can I record this streaming radio program? If some nice person could tell me the exact steps, it would be greatly appreciated.
B) Next, this program comes on very late at night. Does Audacity have a feature like a timer that I can set so that it comes on at a certain, designated time and goes off at certain time? Any information given is greatly appreciated.
C) Finally, is my version of Audacity, that is Audacity-win-1.2.6, good enough for my purposes or should I download a newer version?
That’s it for now. Thank you for reading my post and I look forward to reading your postings or feel free to PM me.
How can I record a streaming radio program with Audacity?

Re: How can I record a streaming radio program with Audacity
Audacity 1.3.13 has an internal timer that can be set for recording in the future. Pay strict attention to all the time and date values. The early version of this tool would try to record 26 hours to capture a 1 hour show.
Recording Audio Playing on the Computer isn't particularly simple and some computers are intentionally missing the internal tools to do it.
There are links for the instructions, but you might be a good candidate for special purpose software packages that do a lot of it for you -- and come with simple instructions. I have a license for Total Recorder on Windows and that's worked well for me. You can also try FreeCorder.
Or you can get a nice strong cup of tea and dig through these.
