distorted playback at 25 second mark

Please help me anyone. I need to submit my audio homework ASAP and i cannot get a decent recording.
Everytime i play the track back, it starts getiing distorted and choppy(sounds like a broken record) around the 25 second mark.
I have alreay uninstalled and reinstalled the program--- same problem.

Is there a way to fix this?

There are one or more data bottlenecks on your computer that are interfering with the flow of data from audio input to hard disk.

Do not record to an external device.
Make sure that you have plenty of disk space (Drive C:/).
Defragment your hard drive (C:/)
Shut down all non-essential programs.
Close all non essential little widgets in the system tray (next to the clock).
Do a full virus scan of your computer, then temporarily switch off the virus checker.
Temporarily switch off Windows update.

If you are recording from a USB turntable, the problem may be more difficult:
try a different USB socket.
search this forum for ION USB turntable (and similar search terms).
