I'm hearing a humming sound every time I try to record? I'm going out of a stanton RM-80 mixer into my wireless internet laptop. I'm trying to just record vinyl mixes. I have other questions but let's start here.

With one of these?

Does the connection say "Mic-In?"

That's a basic and serious mismatch in everything. Mic-In is Mono and the mixer is Stereo. The loudness levels are miles away from matching.

Some laptops give you a Stereo Line-In (blue?) and some give you the ability to switch one connection back and forth. If you lose on both of those, you can get one of these to record the stereo mix show. We use these all over and they work really well for very little money.

They let you do sound-on-sound overdubbing, too.

That's a Behringer UCA-202.

I'm going into the front mic in jack with the audio cable you have pictured? I thought it was the mixer but it's not? Will the bottom device take the humming away or do I need to set the levels up differently? thank you.
