I have no idea if this is Audacity-related or perhaps iTunes-related, but I figured I'd start here in case anyone has any idea what I'm talking about.
I use Audacity mostly to convert vinyl from a USB turntable, then export the MP3s to my hard drive. I then import the tracks into iTunes. Pretty standard, right?
This weird thing has been happening, though--I'll import one of these ripped-from-vinyl tracks in iTunes, and when I play it, it repeats the first second or so of the track. So I'll hear the first note or two, the track will cut for a split second, and then start playing again, this time all the way through. At first I thought that it was just iTunes not playing the tracks correctly, but if I open the files up using Audacity, I can see that a small segment of the song has actually been added to the beginning of the track--so the file itself has been changed to repeat that first split second or though.
If you're not following, this is what the "repeating" looks like in the actual Audacity file:

See how the section from ~2.5 seconds is identical to the part from 0 to ~2.5?
It doesn't happen to every song, I have no idea why and there doesn't seem to be much of a pattern.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Any idea what's going on? Thanks a lot in advance.
