HOOKING UP/CONFIGURING A NEW USB TURNTABLE

Hello,
I bought (new to me) "Anders Nicholsons" USB Turntable from E-Bay.
It did not come with any Supporting Documents/Discs/Instructions.
I did some searching around and everyone seems to agree that Audacity is the Software I needed to Play/Listen/Record my Vinyl.
I plugged the Turntable in, and hooked up the USB cord into my New HP Windows 7 Computer.

So without any instructions, I was wanting to know:
1) What do I have do/open/configure to be able to Play Vinyl through my PC Speakers?
2)Same question as #1, but how do I configure so that I can record a WAV File and put it into a Folder to burn later?

After that, I'm kind of assuming that I have to open up Audacity each time, in order to play/record my Vinyl?

I've asked around but to this Date, I haven't gotten any easy to understand, Step by Step instructions.
I'm not that computer challenged but I'm far from a PC Guru.

Any help would be appreciated.

Roger

No need to struggle through without instructions :)
There is a page in the Audacity manual: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Reco ... turntables
and another page in the Audacity wiki: http://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/USB_turntables

The USB TT page in the manual comes from this set of tutorials that you should find useful: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Tuto ... iscs_to_CD

I had a quick look but couldn't find the manual for the Anders Nicholson USB Turntable TR-W-155-C :(

Does being made of wood make the sound better ? :)

Steve,
Thank you very much.
Your instructions/Links got me headed in the right direction. ;)
I can hear my Vinyl through my PC Speakers. :D

My only issue now, is that it sounds like the Output is too high.
Another words when I play a Record, the VU Meters "Almost" Peak.
It like the Output needs to be turned down.
I'm running an "Anders Nicholson's" TT and there is no adjustment for input/output.
I went to my Mixer on my Windows PC running Windows 7, and was able to turn down the Master Volume, and that helped slightly.
Its almost like I'm in "Record Mode" and need to turn down my Microphones.

As you can tell I'm new to this, so please forgive my Verbiage.
The sound is listenable but there's that perfectionist in me that says, "If I can just turn down the Output a little, I'll get perfect sound".Any Clues?
Roger

It is common on Win 7 that the recording level needs to be turned down extremely low.
I've not got Win 7, but I gather that if you Right click (or is it Left click) on the speaker icon near the time/date in the lower right corner of the desktop, you can open the Windows recording settings. See if you can find that and check that the recording level is set low for the USB recording input.
