Audacity 1.2.x is now obsolete. Please use the current Audacity 2.1.x version.

The final version of Audacity for Windows 98/ME is the legacy 2.0.0 version.

timeline problems in 1.3.13 beta

Post by SOupy » Fri Sep 23, 2011 10:51 pm

I am Importing Audacity 1.2 .aud files and I found that the time line in 1.2 shows markings for half speed (tick mark is every 1 second but tick mark is labeled 1 second but is actually 2 seconds in real time). When I import wav files from another program they also play dbl speed as the timeline in 1.3.13 is the same way. Why is this happening?

Two problems.

You should probably tell Windows to stop hiding the file extensions and that should make this a little easier.

Hidden File Extensions
-- Start > My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > [ ] Hide Extensions for Known File Types (deselect)
-- Apply (to this folder) or Apply to All Folders
-- OK

You may find that the "WAV" files from the other program are really compressed Something Else (AC3, M4A) and that's why they play fast in Audacity.

Download and use the FFMpeg software extension to straighten that out.

Now. Do you have AUD files or AUP files?
