Error with Audacity

This is my first time using Audacity and i'm trying to record and it says "Error while opening sound devices. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate". What that mean and what do i do to fix this problem?

That's open ended. What are you trying to record?

A good start is to set Audacity preferences to 44100, 16-bit, Stereo. Restart Audacity and try again.

Audacity defaults to a super high bitrate and some devices object to it.

Well i dont have stereo mix or microphone or nothing for input devices and im trying to record songs off youtube and edit them.... but it keeps telling me the error.. what do i do about it or how do i get stereo mix?
